New! Join our newest choirs!
Rise Up is GMYC's newest choir!
Backed by popular demand, this choir for children in grades K-3 will start up this Spring! Rehearsals will be full of singing and movement and be enriched by dance, toys/props, rhymes and poetry, performance etiquette, singing a variety of music, and playing rhythmic and melodic games.
Rise Up will meet Saturdays March 19 through May 7th from 9:30am-10:30am in Peterborough. Singers may be dropped off, or parents/caregivers and young siblings are welcome to stay and participate. After our last rehearsal, the children will present private families and guest-only performance!
Masks are not provided for this ensemble, and are required for everyone in the rehearsal space. Tuition is $120 per child, and siblings in grades K-3 can take advantage of a family discount and register for reduced tuition of $100. Registrations are due by March 12th.
GMYC's NEW high school SATB ensemble
High Schoolers have another opportunity to sing with GMYC! Tenors, Basses now join Sopranos and Altos in a chamber choir rehearsing on Monday nights in Peterborough.
Although not auditioned, this ensemble's voicings will be balanced. This means we will have the same number of Basses, Tenors, Altos and Tenors.
Singing primarily a cappella repertoire, singers are motivated and capable, and work together to support each other. Singers of all genders are welcome. Masks are required for everyone in the rehearsal space.
To lower the risk of spreading Covid-19, GMYC is following protocols set by national singing organizations. During rehearsals, singers wear specially made singers masks (provided by GMYC) that make breathing and moving the mouth much easier while masked. We rehearse at a distance, and when indoors the windows are open and exhaling air, and hepa filters are on.
