Cecilia Ensemble Pianist
Deadline: January 28, 2024
Cecilia Ensemble Pianist – Part Time
Grand Monadnock Youth Choirs is seeking a pianist to work with the Cecilia Ensemble for the Spring 2024 and 2024-2025 Seasons. The Cecilia Ensemble is the region’s premier high school treble chorus performing both sacred and secular repertoire drawing from a range of languages, cultures, time periods, and traditions. Rehearsals are on Mondays in Peterborough from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
The Cecilia Ensemble pianist joins the Ensemble on an international performance tour every other year; the next tour is scheduled for Spring 2025 to France. Performance repertoire is set in advance. However, occasionally the pianist will be asked to improvise a simple accompaniment, and/or to embellish on the written score.
The ensemble does perform primarily a cappella works, however the ensemble requires a sensitive and talented pianist to help lead the musical development from behind the piano, and will perform at least 2 pieces with the choir each semester.
To apply, please send a cover letter, resume, and 2 contrasting video or audio recordings to ATTN: Esther Rhoades at Esther@GrandMonadnockYouthChoirs.org.
